Samra Pecanin is an ambitious designer interested in exploring the way that architecture can propose new possibilities for contemporary society. Having an Eastern European background, her perspective in design has been greatly inspired by her time abroad and being exposed to a different culture. After completing a summer program in Berlin, Germany, Samra developed an interest in the ways different forms of architecture, from installations to buildings, can transform communities within cities. Her travel and personal, cultural experiences have helped strengthen her belief that design has the ability to enlighten and enrich lifestyles. Samra is currently working on a new medical clinic for Esperanza Health Centers. She received her Master of Architecture Degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she was awarded the AIA Henry Adams Medal of Merit.
