JGMA seeks to complete Richard J. Daley College’s vision for a unified campus with the design of the Exterior Rehabilitation cladding project for the existing building. By continuing the language established by the adjacent Manufacturing, Technology, and Engineering center (MTEC) the existing building is given new life through a series of angled insulated metal panels that strategically wrap around the structure in an elegant “ribbon-like” fashion.
The building’s rehabilitation will give the thousands of daily vehicles passing on Pulaski Road the impression of a completely new school. With strategic signage, thoughtfully integrated into the Northeast corner of the building to maximize its exposure and, a unique but creative form of permanent marketing to attract future students for years to come.
As the central entrance into the college, the bold, progressive design proposes to become a catalyst for growth and change within Richard J. Daley College, providing students and practitioners with fresh inspiration and pride for one of southwest Chicago’s most successful colleges.
